Libardo José Guevara Pinto is an experienced baseball coach, scout, and sports education professional from Venezuela with over 15 years of experience in athletic development, talent identification, and high-performance training. Born on July 17, 1983, in Bejuma, Carabobo State, Libardo has dedicated his life to cultivating the potential of young athletes through structured coaching, strategic planning, and a deep-rooted passion for the game of baseball.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Culture, and Sports from the University of Carabobo in 2005. Driven by a desire to deepen his knowledge, he pursued further specialization in baseball training methodology and talent identification at the prestigious Manuel “Piti” Fajardo Faculty of Physical Culture in Villa Clara, Cuba. His academic background is further strengthened by a professional baseball scouting certification, providing him with a comprehensive perspective on player development from grassroots to elite levels.

Libardo’s professional journey showcases a diverse and impactful career both nationally and internationally :

  • In 2010, he served as coach and manager for the RBI Venezuela program, led by Empresas Polar, one of the country’s premier youth baseball development initiatives.
  • That same year, he was selected as manager of the Venezuelan national team that competed in the RBI International Tournament in Puerto Rico—a key milestone in his career.
  • In 2011, he became Director of Operations for the Florida Elite Prospect Program in Venezuela, focusing on talent exposure and international placement.
  • From 2013 to 2014, he joined the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) as a mini-camp coach for the Bravos de Margarita, contributing to the development of pro- level players.
  • In 2015, he worked as a sports advisor and planner at the Valencia Sports Institute, providing strategic guidance on sports policy and community engagement.
  • He continued his work as a scout for the Mauro Zárate Baseball Academy in 2016 and later served as head coach for the Mérida State baseball team in 2018.

Most recently, in 2024, he began working as a scout for U.S. collegiate scholarships with the organization JZ5, helping connect Venezuelan talent with academic and athletic opportunities abroad.

Currently, Libardo joins J. Cubas Caribbean Baseball Holdings as Director of Operations in Venezuela, where his experience will be instrumental in leading and overseeing operations throughout the country.
