Jorge Braceras

Standout
Jorge Braceras is a dedicated catching instructor and former collegiate athlete from Miami, Florida, with more than 18 years of experience in baseball as a player, mentor, and leader on and off the field. Known for his elite defensive skills, baseball IQ, and bilingual communication, Braceras continues to make a meaningful impact in player development across all levels of the game.
A graduate of Christopher Dom Republic High School, Braceras began his collegiate career at Miami Dade College, where he hit .258 with six home runs over 49 games, earning recognition for his strong presence behind the plate and ability to handle a pitching staff.
He went on to Bethune-Cookman University, where he made a major leap offensively, posting a .320 batting average with 17 RBIs and a .987 fielding percentage as the team’s starting catcher. In 2024, he transferred to Nova Southeastern University, where he was honored with Sunshine State Conference (SSC) All-Defensive Team recognition for his consistent excellence behind the plate.
Shaped by Legacy: Mentored by Joe Cubas
Jorge’s growth as a player and instructor has been deeply influenced by his uncle, Joe Cubas—legendary baseball agent and founder of J. Cubas Caribbean Baseball Holdings. Growing up under Cubas’ guidance, Jorge gained early exposure to high-level professional baseball-player development, international scouting, and the intricate business of the game. He has absorbed invaluable lessons from one of baseball’s most respected figures, learning the importance of discipline, player advocacy, and long-term development. “Watching how my uncle built relationships and changed lives through baseball shaped the way I approach coaching today,” says Braceras.
Bilingual & Culturally Fluent – A Key Liaison for Latin American Players
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Braceras bridges the gap between cultures on the field, serving as a trusted communicator and mentor for Latin American Players. With firsthand understanding of both the U.S. baseball system and the unique challenges faced by international players, he has become an essential figure in guiding young talent—particularly those from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico.
Today, Jorge Braceras combines his playing experience, cultural fluency, and coaching philosophy to shape the next generation of athletes. Whether he’s refining mechanics, guiding young catchers, or building trust with families, he brings a rare blend of technical skill, professionalism, and genuine care for the people behind the game.
